Student groups from Montana Schools accompanied by their teachers and adult chaperones are admitted free of charge to the museum. An advanced reservation is required.

There are a variety of field trip options. All house museum tours are guided (approximately forty five minutes); Art Museum and Bair History Center tours can be guided or unguided. We are closed to the general public in May but school group tours are available in May, as well as in September and October. Call early! Availability for School Tours in May can fill up fast. Call 406.572.3314 to schedule your group and to plan your visit. To get the most for your students read these tips for teachers:

  • Work with the staff to focus your visit and to discuss collection themes related to your curriculum that our guides will emphasize during your time on site.
  • Materials about the Bair Family and the collections are available – ask and we would be happy to send them to you in advance of your group’s visit.
  • Discuss behavior expectations and your schedule with your students prior to arriving at the museum.
  • Have a goal for your students and let us help you achieve that goal!
